The Craft Show and more projects
Here we are at the first show. It was a slow day but we got lots of compliments:) We probably would have been fine with about half of the inventory that we made! Our towels are now listed on Etsy and we have already had our first sale. Hopefully we will be able to sell the rest of the towels that way. Check us out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/rebecki33 . I hope to add some more towels, lanyards and key fobs in the next few days.

Sewing, Sewing, Sewing
I have been sewing a ton of hooded towels lately. A friend and I decided to try the craft show thing. I am really hoping this pays off! I am also worried about selling out and having to restock in the two weeks between shows. I guess that would be a good thing. Here are some samples of the towels I have made in the past couple of weeks. I have also been cooking up a storm and trying to keep up with a sick 18 month old. I have visions of this someday being this great craft blog . . . Maybe when I am not pregnant with a sick toddler. Don't hold your breath it could be a few years!

OK . . . I'm ready to start:)
A tulle tutu. I have since found out how to tie them and am making a ladybug costume for Halloween. I freezer paper stenciled all the shirts for the kiddos. The 2 pregos had felt letters. 10 grandkids!

The future projects
I am working on sewing 5 table squares for a retirement reception for my mom. I hate doing them. They fabric is slippery and I really hate hemming. On the fun side. . . I just made a darling tutu (pictures to follow) and am working on a bandana skirt. I want to make more reusable bags and a men's shirt girls dress. I just moved the craft room to the basement so I don't have to worry about my crafting waking up the napping darling. I have a ton of scrapbooking to catch up on and am hoping to make one for my hubby. The wedding album is ALMOST finished (after 5 1/2 years of marriage:) Oh well, at least it is getting done. I also decided that I wanted to get rid of the western theme in our living room so I am recycling objects from around the house to give it a new look. Also, I am redoing the guest bath into a kids bath. Wow, no wonder no one thing is done I am doing too many projects at once. I am also chomping at the bit to get to The Salvation Army and pick through the store. Please leave comments if you stop by!

April Projects
I made these felt flowers for a Sew,Mama, Sew contest. The contest was to make flowers out of fabric and attach them to something. I attached mine to magnets. I cut out the felt and beaded the centers. Then I hot glued them to the magnets. So easy and I love the flowers on the fridge! A Spring basket of silk flowers for the house. I have had all the supplies for ages and never done anything with them. I poked them into styrofoam and used green shredded paper to cover the foam. Another project off the list!
I became obsessed for several days with Easter baskets. I made a basket slip-cover out of an old dress and wrapped the handle in lavender ribbon. I then hot-glued the bows to the sides. Easy and cute.

Summer Dress
This was a really fun dress to make. Besides cutting out the pattern, which I hate, everything went really smoothly. I love how the back crosses. It is a McCall pattern 2213. I am still in the process of sewing the bloomers and hat. I am not really into detail or finish work sewing. This is the reason I have like 20 half-finished projects all over the house.

Reusable Grocery Tote
I have been having so much fun making these reusable grocery totes. They are super-easy to make and have further enmeshed me in my addiction to felt. I found the tutorial for them on Martha Stewart. There is even a video, which is great for my learning style. Here is the link. I bought 5o totes on cheaptotes.com and they were a little over a dollar a piece. They aren't the thick totes, which I like because they fold easier for taking to the grocery store. I also added fabric to the sides so they can hold wider objects. About a three inch panel seems to work for me. I made several and then got distracted by other projects, but I am ready to start making them again.

The first post.
Since I am just starting. I am going to include pics of previous projects. Don't know if anyone will read this blog, but I wanted a place to record what I have been doing for myself! Hopefully I will be able to post at least once a week. That's IF I have enough time to do anything for me during the week. Typically the time isn't the problem it's more of a motivation issue!
